When I first saw this tattoo at the bottom of the page in the "Daily Deviations", the first thing that popped up in my head was, "this is DEFINITELY going to be on my arm". I was mesmerised at how the features of the wolf seem "drawn on" by waves of the sea.
I marvelled at how the features of the wolf shown are a bit exaggerated, with a longer, more graceful neck, and a thicker "mane", which gave the it a wholly surreal, mystical and somehow tribal feel to it.
You managed to make the swirls go together magnificently with the little cloud-bubble shapes, and I really like how the wolf is not too stringy, with not a lot of single strands of fur everywhere.
After careful looking though, there was one setback of the tattoo, and that is a little dot on the ear. It's very sad that such a small little thing could make an already magnificent big picture less wonderful.
But really, that's it. I love, love, LOVE this deviation, and I hope that my suggestions could help you to make even more amazing artwork such as this.
Keep deviating, and DON'T EVER stop being awesome!
wow, I just found out today. Thanks for the notice, and I really like the tattoo!
May I have permission to get it (temporarily) tattooed on my arm? It's the exact tattoo I've been looking for for my whole life
anyways, I saw your page, and I think that you, my friend, are a truly talented artist, and I hope you will never ever stop with your beautiful works.
You're welcome and thank you for asking permission. Of course you can get it lol I'm sure a lot of other people out there have it *found out tons of sites took it and uploaded it without permission* *facepalms* rofl
Thanks and only if someone cuts my hand off which then I will proceed to learn to draw with my other hand. If it gets cut off well I'll use my face. : D xDDD
But then, that's the setback of being a wonderfully talented artist
I didn't know I was getting to be so noticed lol.. Recently since I've started doing more drawings with SAI I've gotten more watches, faves, etc lol
I second this. This concept is originally by Firregani and credit needs to be given.
The dot just make the animal more realistic, a lot of canines have 'moles' of sorts on there ears and faces. And not to be rude, but this doesn't quite deserve 5 stars on everything. It's not very origonal, its a wolf head done in tribal, you know how many people to tribal wolf heads A LOT!
I have to say I agree on both statements. I got a message on my critique that this artwork was in fact STOLEN from another deviant, and the real owner did the deviation 2 YEARS AGO! So I take back the good ratings, the deviant who stole the artwork doesn't deserve them.
And talking about the "dot", thanks for the info!
Oh wow, I thought some of the tribals in their gallery looked familier but I didn't know if they were stolen or not. I hate it when people steal art, I just don't understand why.
I know, right? I mean, how would THEY feel if their hard work was suddenly claimed by a random stranger? This "stealing" is plagiarism, and it is illegal, it could lead to the plagiariser being thrown to jail. But I heard from the victim that the matter has been reported, so I hope the incident would clear.
Yeah, DA seems pretty good at keeping art theifs out as long as someone catches it. But at least this person didn't just straight up steal it, they only re-drew the design. And have written a journal admitting and apologizing about it.
I agree. The little dot does nothing. I didn't even notice it until I read this.
Personally, I really like the little dot on the ear. I think it gives it a little something extra from what you would expect on a wolf. (Honestly, it reminds me of a piercing that could also be a significant feature of that tribe... Just my thoughts though, nothing important... ) I agree with everything else you said though.
